Ru's day off

Kyle and I love it when Ru is home with us. Besides doing fun things together, I enjoy the rare opportunity to get things done with two hands instead of one. Or, at least do things without having to keep an eye on the little man. Shmu plays really well by himself and likes to explore on his own, but things just get done a whole lot faster when you aren't distracted. On the other hand, there are some things I cherish being able to do slowly... like taking a shower. What a luxury those few minutes of peace are to me. It sounds like such a motherhood cliche, but it's true.

Today, while I made breakfast, Kyle entertained himself in his favorite spot... under the table. He loves it down there and spent a good 20 minutes talking to himself and eating his toes.
After breakfast, Ru went surfing. Shmu was really curious about what was in the silver, shiny bag. Someday, Kyle... someday.

Then, after Kyle's second nap, we took a family trip to the farm.
We invited a couple of friends to join us with their little ones. Here the 3 boys are looking at the chickens.

Here are some of Shmu's favorite animals... (or, the ones we thought should win the prize for most attractive and best dental work.)

Then, we got home to a package that had come in the mail. Grammie got Kyle a bookcase for all his big boy books with nice, edible pages! We love this new addition to Kyle's room and hope he will get a lot of use out of it in the future. For now, he likes pulling his board books out of his baskets, although he did spend a lot of time staring at that lower shelf.
It was a really fun day! :)

  2. Knowing Kyle's advanced Olympic abilities, it won't be long 'till he's using that bookcase to practice his fireman skills or rescue little damsel's in distress.Hope it's anchored well.Your neighborhood sounds so wonderful with the parks and nearby places to explore. Isn't it fun being a kid all over again? Cherish every day for the huge blessings of family love and togetherness. May God's joy always be in your hearts to stay forever young.XOXO GG
