Science Discovery Center!

We really enjoy going to this Science Center. It's the right price and very close to home. Educators are always free and you can always find a BOGO coupon. This past visit, we decided the educator perks were too good to pass up and bought a season pass. We only had to buy one, at the teacher discounted rate, because I will always be free and a season pass holder gets to bring someone in for free with each visit. So, Kyle can get Gavin in for free every time! All this to say, for $10 more than one single visit ticket, we were able to get us all in for a full year. This is nice as we can just pop in and out without feeling like we need to get our "money's worth" each time. Exhibits change quarterly, and so far, we've more than gotten our money's worth. :)

Here are some pictures from our last visit. The boys never wanted to leave!

A Harley Davidson exhibit where the boys loved "fixing" the bike and learning all about it's engine and various parts.

The recycling sorting center is a huge hit. The boys sort plastics, hazardous waste, green material, etc. for hours...literally.

Seymour Family Reunion

Hi there! Writing a catch up post again. :)

Every summer, on the first weekend of August, there's a Seymour family reunion. This would be my 3rd and 4th cousins, the boys' 3rd and 4th cousins - once removed. I know...it gets kind of mind boggling every year when we try to remember and figure out how we are all related. We are all so distantly related, but I love it. I love the tradition and the effort put in by all who attend to keep the connections and family ties current. Some great, great, great, great grandparent is smiling down on us, happy to see all of us together. At least, that's a nice idea in my head anyway.

Family come from all over California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and this time, Malaysia, too.
It's the kind of fun where you get to be as messy as humanly possible, explore, and play non-stop!

Rudy brought the fun as he always does, just by being his resourceful, adventurous self. Duck trapping was a highlight.
You never saw so many kids sitting in rapt attention for so long... :)
 Cousin Fun :)

 Gavin and Michaela. So sweet.
Looking forward to our next reunion!

Gavin Martin Goes to Preschool and Turns 4!

Again, I'm sorry. It's been a very, busy, stressful few months. Let's go back and document the day Gavin went to preschool and then turned 4! :) I wrote this back when it happened and just never got around to publishing...

Gavin met his teacher and was so adorably sweet about giving her some flowers he picked out.
This kid is super excited about school. I think he feels that going to "school" makes him older just like his big brother.
Gavie was all smiles the very first day.
Over Gavin's birthday weekend, we joined our church for a camping trip. I didn't get many pictures because we were busy having fun, but I snapped a few.

Both Gavin and Kyle made new friends and enjoyed playing with them during the camping trip. Gavin's friend here in the middle is Jonathan. It was interested (for lack of a better term) hearing Gavin call for him and having a Jonathan around us. We all noticed it, including Kyle. Seeing as how Gavin really likes this boy, we may have to get used to having a Jonathan in our lives.
This one was of us playing in a softball game.
Daddy made a swing out of wood he found and some rope I brought with us. The kids all enjoyed this so much.
This was Gavin's birthday wish...a button on his belly and a birthday hat!  :)
Happy 4th Birthday, Gavin!!

Happy Birthday, to our Gavin! Four years ago you blessed us with the gift of your life...and each day thereafter we pinch ourselves that there is another boy in our family, a brother for Kyle... :) We love you and all the joy you bring to our family!
