Happy 7th Birthday, Kyle!!

Kyle's big day was on Friday. He'd been waiting for this day since the day he turned 6! :) It was really fun to anticipate the arrival of this weekend with him. From the smiles on his face all weekend long, I'd say it was a very happy birthday. :)

On the morning of, Kyle raced to the living area to catch his first glimpse of the presents table and decorations.
My sentimental fella enjoys looking through his baby books and pictures. I love this about Kyle and enjoy sharing memories with him.
Present time!! We have officially entered the world of Lego!
Opening a GG package!!
We hopped on a train to have breakfast at Ruby's, Kyle's favorite place to eat. We loved noticing Kyle's birth date!
Waiting for the train to (finally) come!
Gavin says, "Happy Birthday Big Brother!"
This is our thing...I love watching my boys enjoy doing special things together.
The classic "Kyle's is riding a train" pose!
While we eat at our table, the boys do this when each train goes by...

After coming home and putting together a few Lego figures, we cooled off from the 100+ degree day with swim lessons. Later on we had dinner at our local Ruby's. :) My parents' plane had just landed when we sat down, so they were able to join us with my sister as well. It was great timing to have them.
Back at our house, Kyle got his personal, very handmade cake. What kid doesn't love to blow out candles?!
The next morning, Kyle had his big BMX track birthday party! It was a scorcher of a day and we were so thankful for the awnings that shaded us as well as our 10am start time. I think we would have just withered if we'd been there any later. Even with the heat, we all had a great time and Kyle was duly celebrated!! :)

Kyle was cute and sweaty! He loved spraying himself down with his water fan/squirter.
Riders set your mark!
 Cheers for Kyle!!
 And he's off...
Back near the bleachers and covered tables, Gavin talked it up with Grammie. He said, forget this heat! I'm gonna have some watermelon and an ice cold juice.
 Some more candles!

Kyle even got an award for his mad bike skillz!
Back at the house, we cooled off in the pool and in the air conditioned house. Jalen and Teagan came over from San Diego! So fun for Tiffany and I to see our boys together.
They invited us to join them for a show at the Pirate Dinner Theater!

Being that Kyle was celebrating a birthday, he was asked to join in the show...

... and rode in a boat that went around the ship.
Then both boys got to dress up as "Redcoats" and blast their canons on the dreaded pirates.
They boarded the ship and took applause from the crowd for being the "real heroes" of the show.
Mr. Green Pirate was who we cheered for all dinner long, so we of course had to snap a pic with him. :)
And that concludes the festivities of the weekend! Kyle declares it his "best birthday ever!" Though, I think he says that every year. :) Happy birthday, son!!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th! The Martins celebrated in 3 different pools (if you count our private swim lessons earlier in the day) ate at 2 different BBQ parties, participated in a parade of kids from our street, and ended the night with tons of fireworks at the end of our cul-de-sac. The boys had a blast and we enjoyed being with really good, fun people. We still can't believe what a blessing our street is and the friendships we've made.

The boys loved decorating their bikes and though it was pretty hot, waited very patiently for all the other kids to be ready to go!

The kids (minus all the parents who had their own wheels, too)
Our Grand Marshall led the parade with patriotic music blaring from the jeep.
Back at the house, we enjoyed the BBQ with kids fully pool entertained.
Fireworks!

 Brother Love :)

Happy Birthday, America!
