If Kyle could have his way for every second of the day, he'd play. I wasn't meaning to rhyme there, but it's true. He is moving like crazy and into everything. He'll play with one toy and then something else will catch his interest so he'll drop the toy, roll over and pick up another one. Then he'll roll over again and see the first toy, play with it until something he's kicking makes a noise and he'll turn to play with it, instead. If you've ever watched little monkeys in the zoo, that's what he reminds me of. And of course he's not swinging from anything, but he devotes such attention towards one thing, only to be distracted by something else and devour it before rolling or crawling towards another thing of interest. This goes on and on and on until I interrupt him for such mundane things as eating and sleeping. It's been so entertaining to watch him really, truly play this week. He can entertain himself so well and doesn't seem to ever grow bored. We've kind of figured he just has too much energy for sleeping. Who would want to do that?
Here's our little squirt. He has started picking through his bucket to find a specific toy he'd like to play with. Once the item is found, he's captivated for a number of seconds before starting up the routine I just described.

Playing with his buddy, Jonas. Although much smaller, Kyle stood his ground with their little soccer game.

Eating has been fun. So far, he's enjoyed green beans and carrots. He was not a fan of squash. Auntie Michelle, Grammie and Ru have all gotten to feed the Shmu and he's getting used to this new concept of food with other people feeding him. He's also been learning how to drink from his cup and has successfully done so the past two days.

"Flying" with Grammie. He spreads his hands and feet out widely and hits himself like a seal when he's happy. (Grammie and Michelle have been so helpful this week! Thanks for coming to the rescue. :)

Although it may look like we're pushing Kyle to stand here, if you've held him, you know he does this on his own. This week he's been trying to hold on to things and prop himself up. We stood by and watched him maintain pretty good control on things all around the house. A couple of examples here...
Ru wanted Kyle to get some fresh air, so he set up his pack n' play on our tiny balcony. So sad that this is his "yard" to play in. I call it his cage. Poor guy.

We had a really fun week, minus the lack of sleep. Shmu, whenever you read this, I hope you'll come give your mom and dad a big hug and say you're sorry for not letting your parents get any sleep. You're killin' us kid!! :)
