It was a Chicago Christmas year, but standby flights are never easy in December and we were saving our pennies for the chance to buy a home...so we opted to take a Chicago trip in February. (Yea, I'm months behind here, I know...) The boys were beyond excited and that makes me happy. I've a ton of wonderful memories flying to see family in South Dakota or Nebraska and I'm so thankful my boys are getting the same warm fuzzies to Chicago! :) You just can't beat that city, in my opinion! ;)
Here we are on the shuttle from our long term parking near LAX to the airport itself. The boys thought this was so cool.
This sight will never get old...though taller and bigger they are...can they slow down!?!Boarding the plane...building great memories, folks!
At GG's house!!
Meeting Grandma Sally and her friend for some pool.
Grandma Sally playing pool!
Aunt Donna!!
Cousin Donovan, who grew so tall!!!
All of us, on a cow... :)
We had to stop and see the views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline!
The boys love the L...they'd ride it all day if they could.
Snuggle time with GG after a long day.
At my brother's church the next morning, Kyle asked, "What is this??" This is the Midwest, son. They have an entire room designated for hanging coats!! (Always a strange sight! :)
Meeting baby Lauren, their first girl cousin. :)
Cousin Ethan
My brother and his little girl! :)
Rudy drove us around to show the boys all his old childhood haunts. We stopped in at this "side of the road" hot dog stand. It was the best!
At Doug and Claudiana's house! We love the time we get to see our friends and their kids!!
Marcos liked Rudy! :)Old friends :)
Enjoying unseasonably nice weather (for February) in the backyard of our friends' home.
Thank you, Chicago family and friends, for a great trip!
