"Surf Like Papa"

Kyle really wants to go surfing with his dad. He'll ask to join Ru every time he goes out. We tried to explain to him that he'll need to learn how to swim first. As soon as we finished our sentence he was in his room putting on his swimsuit and asking to go swimming. After a trip down to the pool, the boys came back with Kyle exclaiming how he'd swam across the pool 2 times all by himself!!! :) Of course, he did have his floaties on, but he's not afraid to go at it alone and was all smiles.

Unfortunately, it's hard for him to understand why he can't go out in the ocean yet. However, once we have him out there, he quickly feels the power of the water and isn't as daring. We know that one bad experience could be really damaging, so we will take it as slow as is appropriate. Still, it's fun for all of us to enjoy beach time in the water and see Kyle "surf" on his boogie board or on Papa's board while laying on the sand. Then, the two wetsuits just have to hang to dry together! We're so glad he seems to really enjoy the idea. It's just too cute. ;)
